Michael Paparian has over 35 years of experience working on environmental finance and environmental policy issues. He has held a variety of positions inside and outside state government, including California Deputy State Treasurer, Executive Director of the California Pollution Control Financing Authority, Special Consultant to the California Environmental Protection Agency, Board Member of the Integrated Waste Management Board and Sierra Club California State Director.  He recently retired from the state and now consults on environmental finance and climate issues, serves as a Climate Reality Leader, blogs about green finance (CalGreenFinance.com) and climate (ClimateDispatch.com) and assists non-profit organizations.  He attended the United Nations COP21 Climate Summit in Paris as a representative of the InterEnvironment Institute.
