William Becker is an internationally recognized authority on energy and climate policy. Since 2007, he has been the Executive Director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, which develops recommendations for the President of the United States on how to move America to a clean energy economy and to greater climate stability.

Bill also is a senior advisor to Natural Capitalism Solutions and a consultant for the Center of the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University. He serves on the Board of Directors at the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, on the Editorial Board of the Solutions Journal, and on Mikhail Gorbachev’s International Climate Change Task Force.

Prior to 2007, Bill was a senior official at the U.S. Department of Energy for 15 years.

Bill is a prolific writer on environmental issues. He is a guest blogger for Huffington Post and a variety of other blogs related to energy and climate. His essays on sustainable development have been published in several books and magazines. His own books include Out of Harm’s Way, The Making of a Solar Village; and The 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet published by St. Martin’s Griffin in New York.
